Day 58 - December 19th

Today the tile backsplash was grouted.
Forrest and I painted the accent wall and the deck was completed.

Denver comes Home!!!

Thursday - December 18th
Hershey is glad to have his brother home!

Day 57 - December 18th

Today more trim work was done. The tile back splash was installed and more work was done on the deck.

Day 56 - December 17th

This "D" day or better yet "K" day. Today everyone is here to make sure that I have a kitchen. Which included the trimmer, plumber and electrician.
Forrest is making sure things stay on track so that no blood is shed.
Of course things didn't go as smooth as it could have - the oven didn't fit under the cooktop and the cabinet had to be rebuilt. Hershey is supervising.

Snow

Here is a photo of the house with the snow.

Day 55 - December 16th

It was snowing today.
Counter tops were installed, flooring was installed in the laundry area and more work was done on the deck.
If you are wondering... yes they build decks in the snow in Pennsylvania.

Unfortunately today Denver became very ill and had to make a visit to the vet. They had to hospitalize him for what they believe is pancreatitis. Hopefully he won't have to stay too long.

Day 54 - December 15

Electricians were back.

Day 52 & 53 - December 13, 14

To be honest I don't remember exactly what Forrest and I did on Saturday and Sunday but I know we worked.

Day 51 - December 12th

Friday - The electricians came to start hanging the fixtures and do the final electric.

Day 50 - December 11th

I'm trying a different layout - Forrest showed me how the blog looked on his PC (which is much different than the way is looks on my Mac). So hopefully the lines of text won't be breaking in odd ways for those of you that are on PC's.

Thursday - December 11th
Today they came to make templates for the Corian counters and more work was done on the deck.

Day 49 - December 10th

Let me start off by apologizing to my blog followers for not keeping up with posting pictures. Things have been hectic and moving quickly so let me catch you up.

Wednesday, December 10th - The kitchen cabinet installation was completed, windows are starting to get trimmed and doors were hung.

Day 48 - December 9

We got up early this morning (5:30am) to move what was left of the kitchen into the living room. Here is a picture of what the living room looks like right now - we are running out of room.

Today they started on the deck and started installing the kitchen and installed the gutters... we now have seamless gutters. One of the pictures shows the 40 foot gutter that was installed across the front of the house.

It was a busy day!!!

Day 47 - December 8

Today they came to replace the roof on the addition. The wrong color shingles were put on...
Here are before and after photos.

The first shingles had more variation in color than the shingles on the rest of our roof.

Day 46 & 46

Forrest repainted the ceiling in the kitchen - 5 times...
It was difficult to get the "patched" areas to blend in to the ceiling, but thankfully with Forrest's persistence it looks great!!!

I was out of town so I only have pictures Forrest took of the boys while I was gone...

He also got a picture of Andy and Cleo checking out the new deck wood. They can't wait to have a deck again!

We also got some snow over the weekend.

Day 45 - December 5

Today is Friday. The siders were back early to finish up.

The wood for the deck and the kitchen cabinets were also delivered.

Denver helped supervise the delivery of the cabinets.

Day 44 - December 4th

The siders were back - but the weather is not as nice - damp and rainy today.

Day 43 - December 3rd

They started hanging the siding today. The weather was perfect.

Day 42 - December 2nd

Today they installed the vinyl flooring in the kitchen and our front entry. They had to first put down luan. That's Josh posing while he puts down the glue.

I didn't get a picture of the flooring down in the kitchen before we had to cover it so it won't get damaged by the workers.

You can see that the drywallers had to come back to fix the kitchen ceiling. We will be painting that AGAIN...
