Day 30 - November 19

Wednesday - November 19

They put tyvek on the 3 Season Room and added a 2'x8' board to the top so that the deck will meet the siding once those are done.
They also replaced the rubber roof on the 3 Season Room because the first one had too many wrinkles in it for the water to run off properly once the deck is added.

Day 29 - November 18

Once again I have fallen behind on updating the blog - so here goes...
Tuesday - November 18
Today they hung the drywall - and what a mess it made.

Day 27 - Drywall is Delivered

Today the 14' & 12' pieces of drywall were delivered.
Tomorrow they will be here to hang it.

The "Boys" and the stairs

Denver had no problem using the stairs the first time - but Hershey wasn't too sure. Hershey is now a pro at going up and down the new stairs and finds any excuse to do it. He also quickly realized that he can check on me doing laundry by only going half way down the stairs and peaking at me. He will be disappointed when the drywall is hung.

Day 25 - 26

Well - it is the weekend (Nov. 15 & 16). The flooring installer came Saturday to take measurements. On Sunday Forrest cut the counter that was on top of the remaining part of the kitchen that we are using so that we can move it out of the way for the drywall hangers. Monday they will be delivering the drywall and Tuesday they will begin hanging it.

Stairs - Before & After

Originally the stairs went from the kitchen straight down to my studio. To get anywhere else in the basement you had to go through my studio.

Now the stairs go from the new room into the middle of the basement. The stairs go one flight, turn and then continue one more flight and end in the center of the basement. The second flight of stairs uses the same space that the previous stairs were in. The upper space will be used as a pantry in the kitchen.

Found Space - we realized there would be a large space that is above the head room of the lower flight of stairs and behind the pantry. So we had them floor it so that we can use it as storage. We will create access to it in the future through the back of a bedroom closet.

That is Hershey in the last picture. The white door to the left of the stairs is what will be the pantry.

Day 24 - Insulation

Friday, Nov. 14th - insulation was put throughout the new construction AND the wall was taken down between the kitchen and the new upper room - WOW what a difference that makes. I was gone while it happened (getting my driver's license renewed) but Forrest was here to help and supervise. I came home to quite a nice surprise!!!!
